Learn Latin American Spanish

Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and the Caribbean each have their own flavor. A learner won't be lost, but sounding natural means knowing which variety you're actually learning — and this course focuses on the Latin American version people use every day.

There's no "th" sound for c and z — everything is a clean S. Vowels are clear and open, which makes it easier to follow along when listening. The accent most people think of as "standard" Spanish — the neutral, TV-broadcaster sound — is essentially Mexican or Colombian Spanish.

Vosotros doesn't exist in Latin America. Where Spain uses it for informal "you all," Latin Americans just say ustedes for everyone. That's an entire verb conjugation table you don't need to learn. The trade-off is voseo in some countries — Argentina and Uruguay replace tú with vos and its own verb forms — but this is regional, not universal.

A car is a carro, not a coche. A computer is a computadora, not an ordenador. A cell phone is a celular, not a móvil. None of this is hard to pick up, but it matters if you're actually talking to people.

Tech terms, business language, and modern slang often come straight from English — email, link, marketing — which feels less foreign to English speakers than it might in other Spanish varieties.
